- Bring a camera, but use the flash sparingly in the underground section, as the exhibits must not be disturbed by harsh light.
- Book a guided tour; the explanation about the ritual use of coca will take you much deeper than a self-guided walk.
- Save the coca tea for the very end; it will help you acclimatize to the altitude before continuing your journey.
- The security check at the entrance is quick, but leave your backpacks in the storage area at the entrance, as they would get in your way underground.
