Hızlı bilgiler: Almost 300 years of imprisonment passed inside these stone walls before the last cell was emptied in 1909. More than two dozen punishment devices survive in the chambers, including a spiked interrogation collar and a heavy iron pillory anchor.

Öne çıkanlar: Descend the worn spiral stair and you reach a pitch-dark chamber where a recorded interrogation echoes from the vaulted stone, timed to actual 17th-century court transcripts. Look up while you listen, and faint soot marks from centuries of torchlight still outline the ribs of the ceiling above the torture rack.
