Arrive right at 7am opening to experience the caves in soft morning light and nearly empty chambers. The interior heat builds fast after 10am, and tour buses arrive in waves between 11am and 2pm.

- Wear covered shoes and bring socks to remove at cave entrances, the stone floors get scorching hot by midday.
- Stand at the back of cave 2 near the entrance to photograph the full row of Buddha statues with natural light framing them.
- Skip the golden Buddha statue at the base of the climb, it is a modern addition and the real treasure is 500 steps above.
- Visit on a weekday during shoulder season (April or September) when fewer tour groups fill the narrow cave pathways.
