Ziyaret için en iyi zaman

Weekday mornings are best, when court offices are open and the building is quieter, giving easier access to the foyer and public galleries. Avoid late afternoons when dockets finish and lobbies get busy.

Bütçe ipuçları

Public access to the lobby and galleries is free, but everyone must pass security screening; parking is metered or in county lots so budget for parking. No paid tours are necessary, the exterior and public spaces show the highlights at no cost.

Hakkında

Hızlı bilgiler: Etkileyici bir Beaux-Arts adliye binası şehir merkezinin üzerinde yükselir; kireçtaşı cephesi ve bronz detayları akşam ışıklarında parlar. Ziyaretçiler genellikle 37 metrelik merkez kubbeyi ve yankılanan mermer koridorları fark eder; burada sessiz ayak sesleri ve pirinç korkuluklar, tarihin içinde yürüyormuş hissi verir.

Öne çıkanlar: Kubbenin altında oyalanırsanız, öğleden sonra ışığı çatı penceresinden süzülür ve fotoğrafçıların öğleden sonra 16:30 civarında kovaladığı sıcak bantlarla mermer zemini boyar. Az bilinen bir ritüelde insanlar lobideki yıpranmış ahşap banka bozuk para koyar; minik bakır paralar, 50 yıldan uzun süredir büyüyen bir mozaik oluşturur.
