If you want a cheap, authentic meal, avoid places near the Mall and try some food trucks on 14th Street NW - really good and budget friendly.
A week felt just right. Enough to see museums, walk around Capitol Hill, and catch a night show without rushing.
Was there in early spring, weather was hit or miss but overall the cherry blossoms made it worth it. Food scene is decent but kinda pricey for casual eats.
If you like history, DC's monuments are eye-opening. Be prepared for crowds though, especially around the National Mall.
