Brze činjenice: This 5-kilometer boardwalk trail winds through one of Europe's last remaining raised bogs, some peat layers reaching depths of 7 meters. Over 10,000 years old, the bog creates its own microclimate with specialized carnivorous plants like sundews trapping insects along the path.
Istaknuto: Stand at the wooden observation tower at the halfway point and watch the horizon curve around you, the bog stretching in every direction like a cinnamon-colored ocean. On quiet days, you can hear the bog actually breathing: pockets of methane gas bubbling up through the waterlogged peat create a soft, rhythmic popping sound beneath the boards.
