Had a nice vibe here, not too touristy but some streets felt a bit rundown. Food was tasty but a bit pricier than expected.
Messina's weather was perfect in spring, sunny but not too hot. The seafood is fresh everywhere. I'd say 2 days is enough to see the key spots.
If you plan on using the local buses, buy a daily pass. It saved me a ton compared to single tickets and buses show up pretty often.
Overall cool place but kind of small. The cathedral square was crowded mid-day. Good for a quick stop if you're touring Sicily.
Skip the touristy restaurants near the port. Walk to Via Garibaldi for authentic Sicilian eats and way cheaper prices.
