Brze činjenice: Iznad vrata uzdignuta kula korištena je ne samo za odbranu, već i kao vjetrenjača za mljevenje žita. Zidovi tvrđave nalaze se svega nekoliko metara od vode, a za vrijeme oseke oko nje se mogu vidjeti rakovi kako se sunčaju na stijenama.
Istaknuto: U unutrašnjem dvorištu tvrđave još uvijek stoje originalne glinene topovske kugle, naslagane na gomile još u 18. vijeku. Nikada nisu korištene - odbrambena strategija se oslanjala ne na vatrenu moć, već na raspored zidova tako da neprijatelj zaglavi u uskim prolazima.

- Before climbing up, stop by the small room under the stairs, where authentic weapons and ceramics are displayed.
- You will get the best photo not from the fortress, but from the wooden bridge over the wadi leading to the entrance.
- There is no air conditioning inside, so during the summer months choose morning hours or bring water with you.
- Near the fortress there is a traditional boat workshop, worth a look before or after your visit.
