Best in the morning around 9:00, when the sun shines directly on the gate facade and creates perfect light for photographs. You will also avoid the crowds of tourists who pour in here in the afternoon.

Viewing the gate from the outside is free. If you want to see the interior and the exhibition about the history of the fortifications, admission costs 10 lei for adults; we recommend a combined ticket with the nearby Black Church for 25 lei.

Brze činjenice: Kapija Schei prvobitno je bila dio srednjovjekovne utvrde Brašova i služila je kao jedini ulaz u grad s juga. Do danas je zadržala originalni barokni izgled iz 1827. godine, iako njeni temelji sežu u 15. stoljeće.

Istaknuto: Na vrhu kapije primijetite kameni grb s natpisom "Salva Guarda" - bio je to privilegovani ulaz kojim su samo transilvanijski Saksonci mogli prolaziti bez carine. Kada su ovuda prolazili trgovci s kolima natovarenim solju, morali su platiti putarinu koja se mjerila prema širini točkova.

Stop at the information board on the left side of the gate. The original drawbridge system, which no longer exists, is drawn on it.
Photograph the gate from the lower part of the street, and you will capture the entire arch together with the surrounding houses without any distracting elements.
Notice the small stone balls walled into the sides of the gate; they served as protection against cannonballs.
Avoid visiting at noon, when cars drive through here and you are not able to photograph the gate in peace.
