Istaknuto: Local fishermen believe that the tower's white lantern has magical power to protect them from pirates, and they burn incense near the lantern during a full moon. More than 30 rock engravings have been preserved on the tower walls, left centuries ago by merchants and sailors who traveled across the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean.
