The most comfortable time is 7-9 AM, when elderly morning exercisers and the mist rising from tea houses that just opened give the park a special everyday vibe. Weekend afternoons are the most crowded, but also the best time to experience the lively Chengdu atmosphere.

The park is free to enter. At Heming Teahouse, covered bowl tea starts at 12 yuan with free refills. Bringing your own snacks and sunflower seeds is fine, and it is ten times cheaper than tea houses in scenic areas.
