Try buying a metro card from a machine around Connaught Place. Much faster than queuing at counters and reload it as you go. Saves so much time in this busy city!
Delhi is a crazy mix of old and new, with history bumping into skyscrapers. I enjoyed wandering the old streets but felt a little overwhelmed by the noise and smog. Not sure I’d return soon but glad I saw it once.
If shopping’s on the agenda, beware: prices near tourist hotspots get hiked. Walk a bit further into local markets for authentic stuff and better deals. Loved my visit but watch your budget and patience.
I stayed only 2 days and felt rushed. Best to carve out 5 if you want a proper dip into culture, food, and markets. The metro is efficient but packs like a sardine can during rush hour.
Delhi's street food scene blew me away. The spice levels are real, so pace yourself but do try the chaat and kebabs. It's a sensory overload in the best way. Plan at least 4 days here. Traffic is brutal though, so stay patient!
