Bedste tid at besøge

Early morning, when the fortress shadow falls on the water and there is not a single other visitor. Late afternoon during low tide opens up the opportunity to examine the parts of the walls hidden underwater.

Insidertips

  • Before climbing up, stop by the small room under the stairs, where authentic weapons and ceramics are displayed.
  • You will get the best photo not from the fortress, but from the wooden bridge over the wadi leading to the entrance.
  • There is no air conditioning inside, so during the summer months choose morning hours or bring water with you.
  • Near the fortress there is a traditional boat workshop, worth a look before or after your visit.
