Visiting the shipyard is free, just come to Sur Beach. Nearby there are several traditional tea and coffee shops where for a couple of rials you can refresh yourself with a local fragrant cardamom coffee.

Hurtige fakta: Skibsbygningsdokker, der i hundreder af år har været en del af landskabet, fungerer stadig med traditionelle metoder. Lokale håndværkere bygger dhow-både i hånden uden nogen tegninger og stoler kun på viden, der er givet videre fra generation til generation.

- Dress comfortably, but avoid overly short clothing to show respect for the local craftsmen. The best viewpoint is from the pier on the western side, especially during sunset. Do not hesitate to politely ask the craftsmen to take photos, but do not disturb them while they are working. The bench in the shade of olive trees on the shore is a great spot to observe the work without getting in the way.
