Kiired faktid: Granite ridges and rounded plateaus give dramatic panoramas, while well-marked trails make the high country reachable from the city in under an hour. Ringing cowbells and pine-scented air accompany hikes where lucky walkers spot Balkan chamois and ancient beech groves, and more than 20 ski runs plus hundreds of kilometers of trails keep visitors busy year-round.
