Teave

Kiired faktid: Igal aastal uusaastapäeval mahub sellesse staadioni 25 000 pealtvaatajat, kes jälgivad, kuidas suusahüppajad lendavad üle 140 meetri läbi õhu. 60 meetri kõrgune torn ja terrassid raiuti otse Gudibergi mäekülge 1936. aasta taliolümpiamängude jaoks.

Esiletõstmised: Uusaastahommikul täidab kogu orgu 25 000 fanti möirge, kui suusahüppajad stardivad prožektoritega valgustatud rajalt kiirusel üle 90 km/h. Staadion kujundati mäekülge kasutades 40 000 kuupmeetrit kohalikku kivi, andes sellele iidse amfiteatri tunde, mis on raiutud talispordiriituste jaoks.

Sisekujunduse nõuanded

  • Walk to the top of the jump tower for a vertigo-inducing view straight down the ramp and across the entire Garmisch valley.
  • Arrive at least 2 hours early on event days; parking fills by 9 AM and the walk from town takes 30 minutes uphill.
  • Visit during summer for a completely different perspective, the green Alpine meadow landing hill is surprisingly beautiful.
  • The Olympic ice rink next door is open to the public for skating when no competitions are running.
