Kiired faktid: Roughly 15,000 works span from the early 20th century to today, with one of Europe's largest collections of Otto Dix's paintings under one roof. The massive glass cube sits directly atop a former U-boat parking garage, giving the museum a surprisingly compact footprint of just 5,000 square meters.

On Level 1, you'll find the Otto Dix collection, where his biting portraits of Weimar-era Berlin society feel like they're staring straight through you.
