Parim aeg külastamiseks

Mid-morning on a weekday (Sunday through Wednesday) around 9-10 AM, right when the doors open. You'll beat the school groups and have the Bronze Age galleries nearly to yourself.

Eelarvenõuanded

Entry costs about 500,000 Iranian rials (roughly $1-2 USD), one of the cheapest major museums in the world. No free days are offered, but the combined ticket covering both the main museum and the Islamic Era wing saves you about 20% versus buying separately.

Soovitatav

Teave

Kiired faktid: Üle 300 000 objekti täidavad selle saale, ulatudes paleoliitikumist islamiperioodini. Säilinud tellistest sissepääsu iwan on üksi 12 meetrit kõrge ja seda kaunistavad mõned parimad 20. sajandi alguse Pärsia plaatide näited.

Esiletõstmised: Giidiga ekskursiooni ajal võid puudutada 9000 aasta vanust savist kujukest Iraani platvormi esimestest küladest, mida enamik muuseume keelab. Soolamees, üle 1600 aasta tagasi looduslikult mumifitseerunud kaevur, vaatab sulle vastu avatud silmade ja pika valge habemega, justkui oleks ta istunud puhkama.

Sisekujunduse nõuanded

  • Start with the Pre-Islamic wing (left side) before the crowds pour in around 11 AM, then cross to the Islamic Era building after lunch.
  • The Salt Man exhibit is in a dimly lit room on the ground floor of the main building, easy to miss if you follow the standard route clockwise.
  • Photography without flash is allowed, but the lighting is notoriously low in the pottery halls, so bring a camera with good low-light performance.
  • Skip the small gift shop near the exit, it sells overpriced replicas you can find for half the price at the nearby bazaar.
