À propos

Faits rapides: Covering an area of 1,415 square kilometers, this lake is Argentina's largest freshwater lake. Its water comes from more than 130 glacier melt streams. The lake is dotted with many icebergs, floating massive blue and white ice blocks that attract numerous adventure enthusiasts.

Points forts: The lake water has a natural milky color, resulting from mineral particles produced by glaciers. It is very rare and beautiful. The Moreno Glacier on the lakeshore is the only glacier that advances daily. Visitors can witness the spectacular scene of ice walls collapsing into the lake.

Conseils d'initiés

  • Wear waterproof and warm clothing. It is windy on the lake surface and temperatures change rapidly.
  • Bring a telephoto lens to capture distant moments of glacier calving.
  • There are fewer people in the morning, making it suitable for photography and quiet exploration.
  • Avoid boat tours during the noon peak hours. Book tickets early when demand is high.
