The only place where the sun rises and sets over the same sea view. Feet on soft sand, the sound of Buddhist temple bells and waves kissing your feet.

A scenic getaway where you can escape the city bustle and enjoy the silence. Surrounded by greenery, playgrounds, walking trails and shady benches await you for a picnic.

Here the sky and river meet, with feet in the mud and the horizon disappearing. Experience for yourself how nature sets the rhythm and each day brings a new surprise.

The only place in the world where a Buddhist temple meets the waves of the Bay of Bengal. Feel the warm sand under your feet and hear the monks' chanting prayers in the wind at the same time.

Immerse yourself in the rhythm of nature, where mangrove trees cluster along the riverbank and the wind brings salty air. Listen to birdsong with marching calls as you walk through shady forest paths and watch the sun set over the bog.

Here you can try authentic Bangladeshi flavor that you won't find in any tourist spot. Walk through rows of colorful stalls, smell the various spices and taste local delicacies straight from the farmer's hand.
Faits rapides: Tegemist on ühe vanima ja suurima maaturuga Patuakhali piirkonnas, kus kohalikud talunikud müüvad otse oma saadusi alates 1970. aastatest. Siit võib leida haruldasi kohalikke riisisorte ja värskeimad troopilised puuviljad, mida suurlinnade turgudelt asjata otsid.
Points forts: Igal teisipäeval toimub siin elav karjaturg, kus kohalikud kasvatajad toovad oma parimad kitsed, lambad ja veised - see on värviline ja lärmakas sündmus, mis meelitab kohale inimesi kaugemaltki. Turg ärkab ellu juba koidueelses hämaruses, kui sadade loomade määgimine ja linnuhääled täidavad õhu.

Patuakhali surprised me way more than I expected. The river views at sunset are something else. Food was simple but fresh. Stayed 3 nights, felt like enough.
Honestly found it a bit underwhelming. The town itself is dusty and not much happening. The nearby nature is nice but getting there is a hassle without your own transport.
Came during monsoon season by accident. Big mistake. Roads flooded, everything muddy, boats were running but uncomfortable. Go November to February for sure.
The fresh river fish here is incredible. Had some at a small local stall near the ghat and it was the best meal of my whole trip. Super cheap too.
Avoid the restaurants right on the main road near the bus stand. Walk 3 mins into the side lanes near the river, the local dhabas serve better food for half the price.
