Faits rapides: Parmi les 16 églises en bois de Chiloé inscrites au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, cette maison de prière en rondins imite par sa façade la cathédrale de Santiago. L'édifice est entièrement assemblé avec des chevilles en bois, sans un seul clou, et ses murs couverts de bardeaux sont peints d'un jaune vif avec des accents violets.
Points forts: De massifs contreforts en bois soutiennent la haute tour sur plusieurs côtés, comme un oiseau qui s'appuie sur le sol de ses ailes. En touchant les murs du bout des doigts, on sent la rugosité des bardeaux polis par des siècles, et à l'intérieur flotte une odeur de résine et d'histoire.
