Faits rapides: Le canal du XVIIe siècle fut creusé par des prisonniers de guerre suédois pendant les guerres dano-suédoises. Des maisons à pignons colorées bordent le front de mer, la plus ancienne datant de 1681 au numéro 9.
Points forts: La plupart des visiteurs ne remarquent jamais la petite boutique de marché de Noël privée au numéro 20, ouverte toute l'année, cachée derrière une porte rouge sans prétention. Hans Christian Andersen a vécu à trois adresses différentes le long du canal (les numéros 18, 20 et 67) et y a écrit certains de ses contes de fées les plus célèbres pendant son séjour.
