Faits rapides: Une arche jaune vieille de plusieurs siècles se trouve au cœur d'une ville d'époque coloniale, son cadran d'horloge n'ayant été ajouté que dans les années 1830. La structure sert de passerelle entre la place principale et une charmante rue pavée menant à un couvent historique.
Points forts: La vraie magie opère au lever du soleil, lorsque l'arche encadre parfaitement le volcan imposant derrière elle, une image que les photographes poursuivent depuis le monde entier. Les habitants disent que l'horloge, perchée au sommet de l'arche, donne l'heure depuis près de deux siècles, à travers les séismes et les restaurations.

- Head to the small plaza on the north side of the arch for the classic postcard angle with the volcano, rather than standing directly beneath it.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes since the surrounding streets use original volcanic cobblestones that get slippery when damp.
