Faits rapides: Three levels of underground chambers stretch nearly 30 meters below the hill, carved directly into the soft limestone by hand. Over 1,500 people could shelter here during air raids, and the tunnels once connected to a hospital and a monastery above.
Points forts: A tiny spring-fed pool still sits in one of the deepest chambers, where the temperature hovers around 12°C year-round. Visitors can touch the actual hand-carved ladder rungs left behind by 18th-century cave dwellers who once called these tunnels home.

- Photography without flash works best in the main chambers, but the deepest tunnels are too dark for phone cameras.
