Faits rapides: More than 80,000 people can pray here at once across its sprawling courtyard and pillared halls. Its construction began in the late 1800s under a female ruler, Nawab Shah Jahan Begum, and continued in phases over decades.

Points forts: Walk through the main entrance and you're greeted by a pink facade that shifts tone with the sunlight, glowing almost coral at sunset. The two towering minarets, each 66 meters high, frame a massive pool where the entire mosque reflects like a mirror on still days.

Bring a wide-angle lens or phone with a panorama mode to capture the scale of the courtyard and the full reflection in the pool.
Visit on a Friday around noon to hear the call to prayer echo through the halls, but arrive early as it gets crowded.
Cover your head and remove shoes before entering the prayer hall, scarves are available at the entrance if you forget.
The upstairs galleries offer a quieter viewpoint overlooking the main courtyard and are often overlooked by visitors.
