Faits rapides: Une des trois seules églises au monde construite directement sur le tombeau d'un apôtre. Les flèches néogothiques imposantes abritent les reliques de saint Thomas, arrivé sur les côtes indiennes en 52 après J.-C.

Points forts: Un petit trou près de l'autel marque supposément l'endroit où le sang de saint Thomas a imprégné la pierre après son martyre. La crypte en dessous contient sa dalle funéraire originale du Ier siècle, gravée d'une croix que les dévots touchent depuis près de 2 000 ans.
