Faits rapides: La tradition sikh veut que Baba Bakala soit l'endroit où Guru Tegh Bahadur a passé neuf ans en méditation profonde avant d'être identifié comme le neuvième gourou sikh. Le sanctuaire central du gurudwara contient encore le puits exact où il puisait son eau chaque jour, aujourd'hui considéré comme hautement sacré.

Points forts: Contrairement à la plupart des gurudwaras, celui-ci entoure un puits vieux de trois cents ans que Guru Tegh Bahadur utilisait pour ses ablutions quotidiennes. On peut encore voir la maçonnerie d'origine et l'étroit escalier menant à l'eau, où les fidèles s'assoient en méditation silencieuse comme il le faisait autrefois.
