Points forts: Early-morning groups often run two laps of the crescent for a 7–8 kilometre workout, while elderly players meet at the benches to play noisy, fast-paced chess. Orange sunsets stain the basalt promenade, and during certain festivals families set off strings of six to eight sparklers that ripple like tiny starbursts against the night.
