Faits rapides: Lukiškių Square is Vilnius's largest public square, covering 4.4 hectares in the city center. The surrounding streets are home to a mix of Soviet-era architecture, modern embassies, and the starkly beautiful Church of St. James and St. Philip.
Points forts: The square was once a major execution site during the Soviet occupation, and today a small memorial cross silently marks that history among the grass. On summer evenings, the vast open space transforms into an impromptu gathering spot where locals play music, skateboard, and picnic under the shifting Baltic light.
