Faits rapides: Dans la baie d'Ifaty s'étend l'un des plus grands récifs coralliens du sud-ouest de l'océan Indien, qui s'étire sur plus de 20 kilomètres le long de la côte. Les eaux environnantes abritent plus de 130 espèces de coraux et près de 500 espèces de poissons, et pendant la saison, on peut également y observer des baleines à bosse.

Points forts: En te promenant sur la plage à marée basse, tu peux observer dans les eaux peu profondes des étoiles de mer colorées et de petites pieuvres qui se cachent parmi les bassins rocheux. C'est ici même, entre les mangroves et les dunes, que vit la rare plante sifaka de Verreaux, une espèce de lémurien que l'on ne trouve qu'à Madagascar.
