Faits rapides: Cette forêt tropicale du sud-est de Madagascar abrite plus de 12 espèces de lémuriens, dont le rare lémurien bambou. En 1990, elle a été inscrite sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, car elle recèle une incroyable biodiversité avec plusieurs centaines d'espèces endémiques de plantes et d'animaux.

Points forts: Les scientifiques y ont découvert en 1986 une toute nouvelle espèce de mammifère, le lémurien bambou doré, que personne ne connaissait jusqu'alors.
