Faits rapides: La rivière Reest, qui serpente, forme une frontière provinciale, si bien qu'une rive appartient à une province différente de l'autre. Environ 200 espèces d'oiseaux ont été recensées à travers ses prairies de fauche inondées et ses tourbières.
Points forts: À l'aube en mai, les appels bouillonnants et sifflants de centaines de barges à queue noire nicheuses déferlent sur les prairies inondées comme un orchestre liquide. Suivez l'ancienne route creuse et vous passerez devant les bornes de délimitation Kei numérotées, des marqueurs surmontés de fer qui ont réglé les différends provinciaux pendant des siècles.

- Pack insect repellent from June onward, when mosquitoes swarm the damp reed beds.
