Faits rapides: Installée dans un couvent du XVIe siècle, la collection couvre plus de 500 ans d'histoire de la fabrication de carreaux. Une panoramique monumentale de 36 mètres de long représentant Lisbonne avant le tremblement de terre est créée à partir de 1 300 panneux d'azulejos individuels.
Points forts: Entrez dans l'église du couvent et levez les yeux : les murs scintillent de sculptures dorées et de carreaux bleus et blancs qui s'élèvent à 20 mètres vers le plafond. Le cloître lui-même est enveloppé d'une frise de carreaux du XVIIe siècle représentant des scènes pastorales, où chaque panneau raconte une petite histoire visuelle sur 30 mètres de promenade voûtée.
