Faits rapides: La place Carpaccio est le point central de la vieille ville de Koper, dominée par l'imposant palais prétorien du XVe siècle. Chaque mardi et jeudi matin, la place se transforme en un marché animé proposant des produits locaux et du poisson frais.

Points forts: La place abrite l'une des rares horloges médiévales encore en fonctionnement avec un mécanisme manuel, toujours réglée par un horloger local. Sous les arches de pierre, l'écho des pas des passants se mêle au chant des oiseaux qui nichent dans les niches du palais.

• Climb the bell tower of the cathedral (a few minutes on foot) for a panoramic view of the entire square and the harbor.
• Photograph the Praetorian Palace early in the morning, when the square is nearly empty and the light is soft.
• On Tuesdays and Thursdays, combine your visit with the morning market to see the square in its most authentic form.
• Avoid the square during official events if you prefer peace and want to enjoy the architecture without too many people.
