Tamadaba Natural Park
Meilleur moment pour visiter
Late afternoon for the golden light filtering through the pine needles across the forest floor. Spring brings wildflowers and milder temperatures, while winter offers the clearest views from the cliffs.
Conseils budget
Entry to the park is completely free. Bring your own food and water as there are no shops or restaurants inside the park boundaries, only picnic tables at the recreation area.

À propos
Faits rapides: The park protects one of the last remaining Canary Island pine forests, with trees that can reach 30 meters tall and live for centuries. Its position on the northwest coast creates a unique microclimate where the ancient pines capture moisture from the passing clouds.
Points forts: Deep within the park, the Barranco de la Virgen canyon hides pre-Hispanic cave dwellings carved into the volcanic rock by the indigenous Canarios people. On misty mornings, the twisted pine silhouettes against the fog create an almost otherworldly landscape that photographers chase for years.
Conseils d'initiés
- Pack a jacket even in summer, the altitude and ocean winds can drop temperatures by 10 degrees compared to the coast.
- Arrive before 10 AM to have the main hiking trails nearly to yourself before day-trippers arrive.
- The Mirador del Balcón viewpoint at the park's edge is worth the short detour for dizzying cliff views over the ocean.
- Wear sturdy hiking boots, the paths through the pine forest are well-marked but rocky and uneven in sections.
