Faits rapides: Chiang Kai-shek a ordonné la construction de cette pagode en hommage à sa mère. Gravir ses plus de 300 marches récompense les visiteurs avec un panorama à 360 degrés sur le lac Sun Moon depuis le dernier étage.
Points forts: À l'aube, les 12 niveaux distincts de la pagode projettent un reflet parfait sur la surface calme du lac en contrebas. Chaque étage révèle une portion plus large des montagnes environnantes, le sommet offrant une vue complète des formes du soleil et de la lune du lac simultanément.
