Points forts: La mosquée dispose de plus de 20 000 carreaux d'Iznik faits main, chacun présentant des motifs floraux complexes qui créent une lueur bleue fascinante lorsque la lumière du soleil filtre à travers les vitraux ; une caractéristique incroyablement rare qui donne à l'intérieur une ambiance bleue surréaliste. Une tradition étonnante concerne les six minarets élancés, qui ont suscité une controverse lors de leur construction, car un tel nombre de minarets était traditionnellement réservé uniquement à la mosquée sacrée de La Mecque ; pour résoudre ce problème, un septième minaret a été ajouté à la mosquée de La Mecque.
