Bristol's indie food scene and riverside buzz are brilliant. Friendly pubs and live music. Two days OK, long weekend better.

Loved the street art, especially around the harbour, but weekends are noisy and touristy. Good coffee, prices a bit steep.

Skip the pricier harbourside restaurants at dinner. Walk 10 minutes inland to Stokes Croft for cheaper, proper local pubs and better value.

Buy a First Bus day Rover or use the mTicket, much cheaper than single fares. Ferries are handy for short hops, avoid rush hour buses.

Museum day was great, but the drizzle wrecked our walking plans. Felt a bit overpriced in places, still a pleasant chilled city.
