Faits rapides: Une réserve marine protégée regorge de plus de 5 000 otaries de Californie et de phoques communs qui se prélassent sur les rochers toute l'année. Nageurs et plongeurs partagent l'eau avec les poissons Garibaldi orange vif, le poisson marin emblématique de la Californie.
Points forts: Grâce à un statut de parc sous-marin datant de 1931, les forêts de varech de la crique attirent des requins léopards qui glissent juste sous la surface de juin à septembre. Par une matinée calme, les plongeurs peuvent flotter dans des eaux offrant une visibilité de 15 mètres et observer les raies pastenagues onduler comme des oiseaux sous-marins.

- Wear water shoes, the rocks are sharp and the sandy area is small.
- Best photos come from the cliff-top path at the Ellen Browning Scripps Park overlook, especially during golden hour.
- Look for the sea lion nursery at the far left end of the beach, mothers and pups stay there from May through August.
