U stvarnosti, Vlad Nabijač, koji je navodno poslužio kao predložak za vampirskog grofa, ovdje nikada nije živio. Dvorac je uglavnom služio kao carinska tvrđava i kraljevska rezidencija.

Instead of standing in the hour-long line at the main gate, use the side entrance through Queen Marie's Tea House. It is almost line-free.
The best photo of the castle is taken from the viewpoint by the road below the castle, where the entire silhouette including the towers is in the frame.
It is not worth buying souvenirs from the first stall at the castle. A few meters further in the foothills, they sell them for half the price.
