Brze činjenice: Preko 250 000 predmeta nalazi se u zbirkama, od kamenog oruđa iz kamenog doba do raskošnih tekstila iz 19. stoljeća. Jedan od najfascinantnijih predmeta muzeja je 2000 godina star brončani kotao iz grčko-baktrijskog kraljevstva.
Istaknuto: Cijela je dvorana posvećena zidnim slikama iz palače Afrasiab, gdje 7 metara duga živopisna scena prikazuje povorku s konjima, devama i stranim dostojanstvenicima iz 7. stoljeća. Slike su otkrivene tek 1965. godine i smatraju se jednim od najvažnijih arheoloških otkrića u Srednjoj Aziji.
