In the afternoon, when the sun illuminates the church facade and the sea visible from the terrace is at its bluest. On weekends it can be crowded, so weekdays are more peaceful.

Fatti rapidi: È una delle poche chiese cattoliche del Nord Africa, costruita come dedicata alla Madonna posta su un trono, con vista diretta sul Mediterraneo. La cupola rotonda del coro è visibile già da lontano dal mare, e all'interno della chiesa c'è una statua della Vergine Maria che pende dal soffitto a 10 metri di altezza.
Punti salienti: Sull'altare maggiore della chiesa c'è una statua nera della Vergine Maria, che simboleggia l'unione dei popoli africani e ha ricevuto dai pellegrini il soprannome di "Signora nostra d'Africa". Se ci si mette sulla terrazza davanti alla chiesa, si apre una vista su tutta la baia di Algeri, e gli abitanti del luogo raccontano che con il cielo sereno si può vedere persino il promontorio di Cap Matifou a 20 chilometri di distanza.
