Fatti rapidi: Il muro esterno del palazzo si estende per 3 chilometri ed è circondato da 52 torri di guardia. Il restauro del palazzo nel XIX secolo fu guidato dall'architetto Viollet-le-Duc, lo stesso che ridisegnò la Statua della Libertà.
