Punti salienti: The famous Venus Grotto, a 10-meter artificial cave built inside the palace grounds, features a waterfall, colored glass lights that shift through the spectrum, and a lake with a swan-shaped boat. Ludwig would have himself rowed across this indoor lake while listening to Wagner's operas echoing off the cave walls.
