Fatti rapidi: Questa cattedrale è risorta dalle macerie dopo due enormi terremoti nel 1773 che distrussero la sua originale facciata barocca e il santuario interno. Ciò che rimane oggi è una struttura parzialmente restaurata dove rovine senza tetto si trovano accanto a una chiesa parrocchiale attiva, permettendo ai visitatori di camminare tra archi fatiscenti e murature secolari.
Punti salienti: La facciata in rovina conserva ancora la sua originale pietra scolpita, con colonne spezzate dal terremoto in piedi dove un tempo presiedeva l'altare maggiore. Un'occhiata più attenta rivela frammenti di affreschi di epoca coloniale ancora attaccati ad alcune sezioni delle pareti, i cui pigmenti sbiaditi sono un fantasma dell'ornamentazione che un tempo copriva ogni superficie.
