Fatti rapidi: Nella zona ci sono quattro crateri vulcanici, ma il più attivo è il Monte Bromo, che spesso emette fumo verso il cielo. Il parco nazionale si estende su 800 chilometri quadrati e comprende anche la montagna più alta di Giava, il Semeru, che è alto 3.676 metri.
