Fatti rapidi: Oltre 4.000 anni di storia continua di insediamento rendono questo porto uno dei più antichi al mondo, dove il porto stesso ha servito molti imperi. Oggi l'80% della zona è stato ricostruito dopo il 1960, ma le strade in pietra e i cortili nascosti hanno conservato lo spirito orientale.

Punti salienti: Nelle ore serali, le 12 porte in ferro delle scale nascoste si illuminano con colori diversi, creando uno spettacolo visivo che nessuna guida menziona. Il mio consiglio: sali in cima alla chiesa di San Pietro al tramonto, dove senti le campane delle chiese che si mescolano con il richiamo del muezzin dalla moschea vicina, una sinfonia unica al mondo.
