Fatti rapidi: La struttura in corallo e malta di calce fu eretta dai portoghesi nel 1593, prima di essere presa d'assalto nove volte da omaniti e britannici. L'UNESCO l'ha iscritta nel patrimonio mondiale nel 2011, e il tracciato antropomorfo delle sue mura racchiude ancora cannoni del XVIII secolo.
Punti salienti: Un tunnel sotterraneo scavato nel corallo un tempo collegava il forte alla spiaggia, passaggio discreto per rifornire o evacuare la guarnigione. Vicino alla muraglia ovest si intravedono ancora i segni delle palle di cannone lasciate dall'assedio ottomano del 1696.
