Punti salienti: Completata nel 1520 dall'architetto Francisco de Arruda e alta circa 30 metri, la costruzione fu pensata come porta cerimoniale per le caravelle e conserva scolpiti motivi marini: corde intrecciate, sfere armillari e torrette che rifrangono il sole come piccoli fari di pietra.
