Fatti rapidi: In questa piazza si erge la più grande statua di Ovidio in Romania, eretta nel 1887. Sul lato della piazza, un quartiere di edifici della fine del XIX secolo è diventato, grazie alla nuova illuminazione e ai restauri, il luogo di passeggiata serale più popolare della città.
Punti salienti: La gente del posto dice che Ovidio guarda verso il mare, ma in realtà il suo viso è rivolto verso la civiltà. Quando il sole tramonta e le luci si accendono, intorno al poeta di marmo si formano ombre che lo fanno sembrare come se si muovesse e recitasse poesie.
